Offering Programs, Building Communities

Many cultural Jews remain outside of Jewish community life. Others have chosen to celebrate and perpetuate their Jewish identity and that of their children by joining cultural, secular and Humanistic Jewish communities throughout the world where their beliefs are welcomed and encouraged.

The Center for Cultural Judaism:

  • publishes Contemplate: The International Journal of Cultural Jewish Thought, an annual compendium of articles from around the world;
  • is developing educational resources for high schools to teach Jewish Culture and Civilization;
  • is creating a central library of books, articles and videos on secular, Humanistic and cultural Judaism, with many books available for purchase at the Center;
  • sponsors a new seminar series at the New York headquarters featuring leaders in secular, cultural and Humanistic Jewish thought;
  • provides speakers and scholars to appear at other cultural Jewish forums;
  • supports the training of Humanistic rabbis, leaders and educators to serve the growing needs of cultural Jewish communities;
  • provides cultural Jewish celebrations, services, and rites of passage to help engage non-religious, secular, cultural and Humanistic Jews in Jewish life;
  • connects those in search of like-minded people with a Jewish community that supports their beliefs.
